Flection uses the following instructions for the correct packing of redundant hardware.

Goals of this instruction are:
1) Reducing risk on (transport) damages;
2) Promote the reuse of packing material;
3) Minimizing transport & logistics charges and cost;
4) Optimizing the further processing (refurbishment) of goods.

Flection has instructions by volume (large v/s individually) and by product type.

 

Product Type Example Instruction

Monitors

CRT - 17”

 

  • Put video cable and (if present) power cable around stand
  • Layers are separated by cardboard (first layer on pallet requires cardboard too)
  • Loose stands and cables in separate box on the pallet (top layer)
  • Stacked up to 3 layers high
  • Pallet load to be plastic shrink- wrapped
  • Label pallet (transport label or client package details)

 

Monitors

CRT - 19” >

 

 

  • Follow instructions above, except stacked up to 2 layers

 

Monitors

TFT (individual)

 

  • Bubble wrap each flat screen
  • Pack flat screen in a box with adaptor
  • Stack packed boxes up to 4 layers max.
  • Pallet load to be plastic shrink-wrapped
  • Label the pallet (transport label or clientpackage details)

 

Monitors

TFT (bulk)

 

  • Use card board pallet boxes supplied by Flection.
  • Pack flat screen in a pallet box with adaptor
  • 14 flat screens per box. Close full box with carton board close lit. Maximum 2 boxes per pallet
  • Pallet to be plastic shrink- wrapped
  • Label the pallet (transport label or client package details)

  • Stacked up to 10 layers max.
  • Cables, keyboards, mouse etc. packed in separate boxes
  • Pallet load to be plastic shrink- wrapped
  • Label the pallet (transport label or clientpackage details)

 

Notebooks (1)

Individual

 

  • Bubble wrap the notebook or put it in a bag
  • Put notebook and components in a box
  • Stack boxes up to 4 layers max
  • Pallet load to be plastic shrink- wrapped
  • Label the pallet (transport label or client package details)

 

Notebooks (2)

Bulk


 

  • Put the notebooks including adaptors in box
  • Maximum of 26 notebooks per box
  • Close full box with carton lit
  • Maximum of 3 boxes per pallet
  • Bags and other components in separate boxes on top of the pallet
  • Pallet load to be plastic shrink- wrapped
  • Label the pallet (transport label or client package details)

 

Printers

 

  • Max 3 layers on a pallet
  • Components (power cables, printer cables) in separate boxes on top of the pallets
  • Pallet load to be plastic shrink- wrapped
  • Label the pallet (transport label or client package details)

 

Server Racks

 

  • Server (pallet) to be plastic shrink- wrapped
  • If not on wheels, then should be palletized
  • Label the pallet (transport label or client package details)

 

Logistics

Packed /wrapped pallets are transported in locked vehicles to Flection process sites.
